Hilborn Fuel Injection was the esteemed guest of the Ford Motor Company at SEMA 2009, and huddled within the giant Ford booth, the multi talented crew of Galpin Auto Sports was tasked with a build project of enormous proportions. The goal? To perform a live build of a car, from scratch, during the four days of SEMA, and on that final day, race the car in the back lot to showcase the amazing talents of the GAS team.

Starting with a Dynacorn shell of a 1969 Fastback Mustang, the designers at GAS picked aftermarket suppliers to provide components for the build. With numerous induction systems to choose from, the GAS crew knew there was only one choice for this historic build, a Hilborn EFI Fuel injection system. They knew nothing else would give them the big power increase they demanded for the 392 cubic inch Boss 351 crate engine, or the wild look of eight stacks sticking through the hood along with the smooth drivability they desired.

Using our complete FAST EFI kit, the GAS crew expertly installed the Hilborn system. Then, with the turn of the key, it instantly roared to life to a thunderous applause of the crowd. But the excitement had just begun, as renowned drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. was only moments away from thrashing this brand new, and untested car, in the back lot of SEMA. Well it is safe to say that Vaughn didn’t disappoint and neither did the power of the Hilborn injected Boss 351 crate engine.
