Noisy
fuel pump
This concern
is a direct result of poor fuel supply to the inlet side of the pump. Due
to this concern, intermittent drivability problems could possibly result.
Causes are as follows:
• Does the tank/cell
have a 3/8 vent minimum?
• Have you substituted
the originally supplied fuel filters?
• Is the fuel pump
inlet filter correct for the application and is it a minimum of 40 microns?
Are the fuel supply fittings full flow? Do not use brass or machined aluminum
fittings.
• Does the return
line dump into the highest and most forward part of the tank/cell, positioning
it as far as possible from the outlet?
• Except for the
model 600A, fuel pumps should not suck UP more than 12 inches.
• Does the tank/cell
have enough fuel?
